Overview

We have an opening for an Engineer II role with a focus on Workflow Automation with industry standard workflow tools, to manage multiple facets of the a Tech program.

Candidates must be able to provide support and flexible working hours to cover part of NY and Phoenix / Salt Lake City working time zones Monday-Friday.

Responsible For
Extensive background in workflow process management – knowledge of Tonkean (or similar  low-code / no code) workflow tools and processes / services is a plus. A background in design thinking, process building and end-to-end solutions design – simplifying and streamlining end user processes and task steps. Experience with integrating services, tools and processes with workflow management and enterprise data environments for solution derivation. Demonstrated proficiency in decomposing data / automation challenges and solutions derivation in various-scaled data environments (SQL Server, Big Data (Lumi), etc). General knowledge of SharePoint data management functions (e.g Sharepoint Lists) and implementation strategies. Familiarity and design experience with capturing and managing data from processes created in workflow in enterprise environments (e.g. SQL Server DB’s, big data environments, etc.) Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office / O365 platforms and tools, (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint and Word) including export functions and data transformation functions for Business Process support. Strong collaborative / partnership skills with Business / Technical Teams. Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to create and manage technical work plans required for various sized GCO Tech initiatives. Ability to provide status (oral and written), for large and intermediate-sized work plans with varying levels of complexity. Ability to decompose and organize ideas, concepts and facilitate ideation exchanges regarding concepts presented with both technical and non-technical personnel. Create updates for projects / tasks in flight or those being planned. Familiarization with Amex internal Information Security protocols and guidelines - Manage ServiceNow Tickets / action items and monitoring for service continuity in all apps / supported integrations created with workflow.Ability to maintain and document changes, designs and operational flows / outputs clearly for the broader technical and business teams. Provide technical assistance and integration / process support, as needed, for the Senior Engineer to support SharePoint functions and ancillary systems and processes that interact with that environment across the GCO Tech portfolio. ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS Candidates must be able to organize conceptual initiatives with key business partners. He/she must have a strong work ethic and be able to collaborate with a diverse global team and communicate clearly. Ability to analyze user needs and identify shared areas of interest / requirements and syndicate with both Business Team partners, as well as technical personnel. Ability to derive recommendations and rationales for data and/or process need / refinement. General facilitation to support technical projects / integrations as designated by Senior Product Owner, Technical Delivery Manager and Senior Engineer. AGILE PRODUCT DELIVERY Candidates should be fluent in Agile product development practices - Attend and participate in Standup, PI Planning, Sprint Planning meetings, Retrospectives. Track and manage work activities in the Rally environment. PLATFORM HEALTH SUPPORT Candidates may also be asked to provide ad hoc support, as required, resolving portfolio vulnerabilities related to workflow through research and collaboration with internal teams and partners. Assist the Sr. Engineering Manager with system vulnerability and exception compliance initiatives.
